Welcome,
I am a potter in Alfred Station, New York, creating functional pots and vessels in a wide range of clays fired in a variety of atmospheres and temperatures. I focus on integrating wheel thrown, hand built, and mold produced elements to create a diverse body of work that explores the vocabulary of functional forms. My day job is Raw Materials Technical Specialist and Grinding Room Manager at NYSCC @ Alfred University. Follow on Instagram to see what I'm working on: @jamestingey The Art Spirit Gallery in Coeur D'Alene, ID also carries a selection of my work. Go see it in person or check it out online. Locally, my work can be found at Cohen Gallery in Alfred. I am also a member of ArtAxis, an independent network of contemporary ceramic artists. Its a great resource for students, instructors, curators and collectors |
